寶貝現在滿一歲 母
平常吃cosequin一天一粒

2005/12/17 - 20kg
2006/ 3/25 - 21kg

醫生說getting worse
建議作股骨頭切除 他認為寶貝的肌肉目前很好 可以有力支撐股骨頭切除後狀況

除了吃cosequin
他建議我們再吃一瓶 可以減輕疼痛 ARTHRIMED
EACH PALATABLE TABLET CONTAINS:

(Shark cartilage)

Green Lipped Mussel 150mg
Extract

Ascorbic Acid 100mg

想請問醫生 寶貝動手術是對她最好的選擇嗎 (我現在很心慌)
今天買的保健品 醫生強調的是 Green Lipped Mussel是草藥的pain killer 對狗狗較無傷害

我以為寶貝的情況會較去年好
她的活動力 就我看來似乎更好了 更好動 更活潑
但是醫生說 等到她表現出痛 已經太晚了
如果能在肌肉狀況良好時 就作手術 對她才是好的
我很茫然 不知道該怎麼做

I will recommend to increase the dosage of cosequin to two tablets per day. You don't have to take a lot of similar supplements such as glucosamine, ascorbic acid and green lipped mussel(this is a sea food full of glucosamine, not a pain reliever).
Femoral head removal is a salvage surgical procedure. We perform it when there is no better option. If the dog is doing better now, I don't get the purpose of the surgery at this moment.
Conservative treatment is a better choice for your Baby for now. It also preserve all possible surgical options in the future. The key point of conservative treatment is to keep the muscular strength to hold the joints and keep the dog slim to reduce the burden of the joints.
My personal openion, this dog can wait for the surgery.
