Well, the way I use is to hold the both front legs and pull down toward the ground. The dog will learn this is no fun very soon. Try it, I uesed to recommend this to my clients and it worked well.
You also can hold the dog's head or mouth tight and push him down. You also have to use very strong tone to say NO and do not let him go until he complete calms down. Repeat to do this sevaral times and next time when he tries to jump, you just have to say NO(with strong tone) and he will stop to do it.
