Yes your dog has CHD on both joints. I believe there is an active inflammation on right side but I do not think the right side is that much worse than left side and needs to perform surgery as soon as possible. Did your doctor prescribe any medicine to help at this time? How is the walking ability now? Please give me more update information before I can give you more advices.

Dr Lee, Yes, she got right joint dislocation on her right back leg a month ago. She will perform a surgery to "fix" the joint this Friday. However, my doctor said it may adversely affected her CHD problem. Anyway, she is now walking without using her right back leg most of the time. My doctor my gave me a medicine called "Cartiflex" ONLY. She is now 1 year only with 25.5 KGs. I wonder if it's necessary to do the TP O/THR for her CHD problem. Thanks very much for your advices in advance.

I believe the translation has a little misunderstanding. We don't think the surgery needs to be done at this moment. We will control the inflammation first. However, we didn't exam the dog in person so we don't know the right is really that unstable. (the right will pop in and out all the time) According the radiographs, the right hip is still in the cup.
We havn't get any information about the surgery your vet is going to perform. We won't do TPO on this dog. THR?? or toggle pin???
Please rule out other problem before cutting.

[font=Arial] [/font]First, thanks for your reply. In fact, she will first go thru' a operation for her patella. As she got dislocated almost a month ago. My doctor's advise is that if I go thru' the operation to cure her patella. Then, her hip must go worse and may need to undergo another surgery called THR (Total Hip Replacement). Please advise if there's any possibility for not doing THR right after patella operation. Is the natural treatment (weight control/swimming etc.)can help CHD for the patella operation ? Many thanks!
